Rainbow Restaurant: Experience Authentic Chinese Cuisine in Farmington

This is a small Chinese restaurant, but it’s always buzzing with customers — a true hidden gem. We visited on a Saturday and ordered the lunch combination. The combo came with fried rice, soup, and a crispy egg roll. The egg roll was a bit heavy on the bean sprouts for my taste, but I really enjoyed the crunchiness. The complimentary soup was surprisingly good quality — better than what you’d expect for something that’s free. I ordered the Mongolian Beef and Almond Chicken. I asked for the Mongolian Beef medium spicy, and while I can usually handle spice well, it was a bit spicier than expected. Next time, I’ll probably go with mild plus. As for the Almond Chicken, a few pieces came out slightly undercooked. I asked if they could bring a few well-fried pieces, and the staff kindly offered to remake the whole dish. We were already full, so we declined — but they still packed up a fresh one for us to take home and apologized. That kind of service really stood out. Overall, a great experience with tasty food and excellent customer care. I’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely phenomenal Chinese food. The service was fast and friendly. The food was perfectly timed in three courses. I ate until I was full, and still had plenty to box up to take home. Everything was so good, I cannot wait to come back again!

Excellent service, we were checked up on multiple times, but not in an annoying kind of way. The food came out in a timely manner and was hot & delicious. The wonton soup was very flavorful. The prices were reasonable and they even boxed up the food for us at the end. Great experience. Also super gluten friendly and thoughtful to my husband’s sensitivity.

Really good food and fast service. Place is a little small but it was a great experience and will be going back again. Large portions and good appetizers! Good flavor and not overly sauces or season. Tasted fresh and was delicious!

I gave them five stars cuz their food is so good. The lemon chicken is excellent. service at the restaurant when you sit inside is not the best. When I order takeout and I go in sometimes I've had to wait even though it was at the time expected. Parking in that lot is usually available but it's a busy lot.

Christmas Day- BUSY!! we waited about an hour before we could be seated. The foyer area was packed with people either waiting to be seated or picking up carry out orders, but even with that they were very efficient in moving things and people along This meal was delicious and prepared perfectly- General Tao: saucy, sweet, tang mild heat crisp and NOT heavily breaded- needed more sauce- the sesame chicken that my husband ordered was as good. The crab Rangoon is rather large and basically just stuffed with cream cheese. I probably wouldn’t order those again. The hot sour soup is delicious. The eggrolls and spring rolls were very good. The dumplings were tasty -I wish the chunks of chicken were cut up more into bite-size pieces and that they served a little extra sauce in both the sesame and the general Tao chicken. The waitresses were super busy. No time for chitchat lol Great visit

The food is consistently delicious and takeout doesn’t take too long. I recommend dining in! More bang for your buck as you can get tea and soup included. The service is super fast and friendly as well! I like the sesame chicken, sweet-and-sour chicken, and wonton soup. The portions are very big too!

Excellent, local Chinese restaurant. Most of their menu can be made gluten free (not the egg rolls), even their breaded options. My husband got the orange chicken made gluten free and loved it! Very friendly and quick service. Good prices. We will be back!
